At Heart of Hospice, it is our mission to transform end-of-life care in the communities we serve. We understand that our veterans and their families may have unique needs at the end of life, and we strive to meet them where they are. We are a proud partner of We Honor Veterans and committed to serving our veteran community the way they desire to be served.
We publicly acknowledge the sacrifice the veterans have made for our country through a pinning ceremony. During this ceremony, we ask that veterans take a moment to share their stories with us, and we present them with a certificate and pin to recognize their service.
Veterans have unique needs at the end of life that are best addressed when they feel understood by another veteran. Heart of Hospice’s veteran-to-veteran volunteer program aims to pair recruited veteran volunteers with hospice patients who have served in the military.
