Pinning Ceremony

We publicly acknowledge the sacrifice the Veterans have made for our country through a pinning ceremony. During this ceremony, we ask that Veterans take a moment to share their stories with us, and we present them with a certificate and pin to recognize their service.

Vet to Vet Volunteer Program

Veterans have unique needs at the end of life that are best addressed when they feel understood by another Veteran. Heart of Hospice’s Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer program aims to pair recruited Veteran volunteers with hospice patients who have served in the military.

    The volunteers
  • Participate in the pinning ceremonies
  • Relate to Veterans through common experiences
  • Encourage Veterans to share their stories
  • Visit with Veterans

Become a volunteer

Your gifts of compassion and care can make an amazing difference in the lives of patients and their families. Often, we underestimate the power that a smile, a caring word or the smallest act of kindness can have on someone. Volunteers can provide support to patients and families through direct care or administrative duties.
